Santenay 1ercru Beaurepaire Rouge 2022

The 2022 Santenay Beaurepaire 1er Cru contains 15% whole bunches, though I would have guessed a little more. Black pepper and pencil box on the nose interlace the black fruit, backward and tight at the moment. The palate is pliant, with fine tannins lending this a silky texture. There is lovely harmony here, poised and pure towards the finish, with hints of blueberry and allspice. This is a sophisticated Santenay from David Moreau. Drinking window: 2026-2042.
