Seppeltsfield The Southing Single Vineyard Shiraz 2020

Very dense colour with purple-black hues, the aromas full of dried herbs and freshly tilled earth aromas, and hints of sage and thyme that re-appear in the mouth. A very full-bodied wine with lashings of tannins that are savoury and drying yet supple, the formidable flavour and structure reverberating for a long time on the aftertaste. Tremendous intensity, concentration and persistence. A ripping shiraz. (18-20% new oak, all French). Drink date: 2022-2047. Score – 97. (Huon Hooke, therealreview.com, July 20, 2022)
