Moving to the wines from bottle, the 2017 Asterisk offers a dense purple hue as well as a sweet nose of crème de cassis, mulberries, brambly herbs, chocolate, and toasted spices. Fruit-forward and charming, it still has ample mid-palate depth, ripe tannins, and beautiful balance. I don’t think it’s going to make terribly old bones, but it’s going to drink beautifully for at least 15-20 years. Maturity: 2021-2041. Score – 94. (jebdunnuck.com, Jan. 27, 2021)
