There are two main soil types in Barolo, and this wine comes from the calcareous Tortonian soils of La Morra. Tortonian soils produce wines that are rounder and less tannic than those grown in the Serravallian soils of Serralunga. La Morra’s wines are elegant, aromatic and more overtly fruity than those of Serralunga and are approachable young. This one shows dark fruit, mushroom, leather, and fresh acidity.
