The Susumaniello grape is practically exclusive to the Italian region of Puglia. Since 2003, it’s been included in the list of varieties approved by that region for cultivation. This impressive example showcases ripe red fruit, spices, soaring evergreen notes and a persistent finish. It’ll pair well with traditional Puglian orecchiette and broccoli rabe, or pork chops in an herbed tomato sauce.
