Product Details
Abruzzo is the brawny Italian brother, a land of woodsmen and meat-eaters and many of the players on the Italian national rugby team. The Talamonti 2015 Montepulciano d’Abruzzo Tre Saggi embodies that strong and robust nature, the towering personality of the nearby Gran Sasso peak, and yet, it is still a stylized wine, made in an intelligent way. If you appreciate a bigger and more fleshy style of Montepulciano that shows the heat and sunshine of the vintage, you’ll appreciate this expression, with plenty of dark, primary fruit to enjoy with grilled sausages. It ages in 300-liter oak barrels for 12 months. Drink date: 2020-2024. Score – 90+. (Monica Larner, robertparker.com, April 9, 2020)
