[Though not the same bottling of this non-vintage wine, this latest release will express notes consistent with Megha Jandhyala’s assessment from 2024.] Notes of roasted herbs, nutmeg, and cloves season flavours of ripe red plums and dark cherries in this cheerful blend of sangiovese and merlot. There is a hint of sweetness on the medium bodied palate, while tannins are fine, sandy, and drying and acids, juicy. Length and depth are solid at this pricepoint and while this is not a very complex wine, its unaffected simplicity has appeal. Tasted July 2024. (Megha Jandhyala, S.J.D.,winealign.com)
