This is a selection of blocks from a vineyard in the Los Árboles zone, near the foot of the first mountain chains of the Andes. The soil is sandy with stones covered in calcium carbonate, and the wine was aged for 12 months. There’s something deliciously herbal here that accompanies the ripe red fruits that spread across the palate. The sensation is of cherry juice. The texture is smooth, but still has sharp, fine tannins. One of those typical new-school malbecs focused on fruit and the fresh aromas of the Andes. [Enjoy through mid-2030s.] Score – 94.
