Umani Ronchi Pelago 2020

A super-Marche made from montepulciano, merlot and cabernet sauvignon, first produced in 1997, this is a sumptuous, ripe and concentrated red wine, chewy and dark, with significant wood influence, high quality and ultimately well-integrated. Tannins are grippy and grainy, not yet fully integrated, while length and depth are very good. Try again after 2025. Tasted April 2024. (John Szabo, MS,winealign.com)
