Although it may still be too early to describe them, and there are examples that deviate from the norm, earthy aromas are recurrent in the pinot noirs from Malleco, an area about 650 kilometers south of Santiago that now produces some of Chile’s best chardonnays and pinots. In this case, those earthy notes are clearly established, along with red fruits and slightly herbal touches, while on the palate, the acidity sets its terms in a fruity, juicy, intense wine. Score – 94. (Patricio Tapia, guiadescorchados.cl, 2022)
