The red 2022 El Hombre Bala was produced exactly the same as the 2021 I tasted next to it. A warm and dry year with a long summer marked the wine, which is a little riper despite having the same alcohol level (14.5%), but it’s incredibly fresh and balanced for the year. It has a medium to full-bodied palate, with fine tannins and a long, tasty and clean finish. In warmer years, they play with the fermentation, using less skins (they press part of the grapes or press them before fermentation finishes), and it shows in the wine, which keeps the poise without any signs of coming from a warm year. They worked really well here. It was bottled in December 2023. Drink date: 2024-2030. Score – 93. (Luis Gutiérrez, robertparker.com, Nov. 21, 2024)
