The 2019 Cabernet Franc Chañares Estate from Los Árboles, Uco Valley, was 50% aged in new barrels. Purple in color. The clear, delicate perfumed nose presents remarkably intense notes of sour cherry, ash and blackcurrant enhanced by a layer of mint and aromas from the aging process. Indulgent and expansive, the energy builds in the mouth, sculpting a palate of balanced freshness that enlivens the extremely finely grained tannins. The flavors are a precise combination of oak and just the right degree of ripe fruit. Drinking window: 2024-2040. Score – 96. (Joaquín Hidalgo, vinous.com, Nov. 2022)
