Strikingly deep orange to amber hue. Very attractive oxidative notes with walnut, toffee, and caramel to the dried oranges and sweetened papayas, and then, of course, some vanilla. Full-bodied and phenolic on the palate showing some nice oak tannin structure and a very flavorful, intense center palate that extends to a lengthy finish that lasts almost a minute. This is quite traditional, if you like, and can be pigeonholed to the same ilk of Lopez de Heredia wines. 39 months in barrels. Vegan. (Zekun Shuai,jamessuckling.com,July 21, 2023)
