Maria Papoila Loureiro/Alvarinho 2023

This crisp, lively, unoaked wine comes from vines grown in granitic soils in the relatively rainy northwestern corner of Portugal. It’s quite intense on the nose, with generous tangy citrus and apple, excellent tension and gusto, and a marvellous mineral-laced finish. Pair with seafood or green salads. Drink over the next year to enjoy its zesty, youthful disposition or follow it for another 2-3 years.
