‘Pierres’ is in reference to the practice of covering vine roots in stones to retain heat when temperatures drop, which is a page taken out of the Côtes du Rhône playbook. Considering that this wine was aged in oak barrels for two full years, one might assume the rich, unctuous character would mute the bright flavours, but the crisp lemon and quince notes are well-integrated, blending perfectly with hints of acacia, white flowers, and a sharp-edged minerality.
