Château La Confession 2025

Pleasing fruit-driven aromas including high toned plum, raspberry and blackberry. The palate is juicy and tangy, the acidity coming to the fore but thankfully complemented by ripe fruit. The balance is reflected in the numbers, with about 13.75% alcohol and a pH level of 3.6, a combination of richness and tanginess, no doubt due to the influence of ageing in 20% amphorae. The 30% new oak is nicely integrated. Medium finish. I wonder if a bit more new oak would give the wine a touch more body, in this case. Drinking window: 2028-2036. (Panos Kakaviatos,decanter.com)
