Château La Croix de Gay 2025

Sweet, creamy, fragrant blackcurrants on the nose – smells floral, ripe and perfumed with vanilla and milk chocolate too. A touch chewy, you really get a mouthful of tannins here but it’s matched so well with such a cool, fresh mid-palate – blueberries and fresh plums – that the tannins melt away and you’re left with quite a finely structured, pure and precise aspect. Still very much in its youth, compact, tight and knitted but this will be lovely. A little serious still. 3.67pH. Drinking window: 2030-2040. (Georgina Hindle,decanter.com)
